Where have the Permanent Jobs Gone?

Companies are changing the way that they engage employees. And that change is accelerating. This is backed up by the jobs data. In the most recent jobs statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), although the number of unemployed is relatively stable or rising slightly, the number of permanent positions is reducing. Jobs are being deconstructed and broken down into tasks. Permanent employees are being replaced by contract or contingent workers. This trend has accelerated over the last few years and it is causing angst amongst many people.

I would like to share an article by Josh Bersin that helps to explains why these changes are occurring.
